Anyone who wanted to submit public comments on the draft PEA for drone package delivery operations. No pilot is affected operationally.
What the document says
On December 9, 2025, FAA published a notice of availability announcing a public comment period for a draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) related to UAS package delivery operations in the United States. This notice extends that comment period to January 23, 2026.
What changes in practice
Nothing. No new rules, no new restrictions, no new authorizations, no changes to existing operational requirements for remote pilots.
What it does not do
This notice does not approve, deny, or modify any UAS package delivery operations. It does not create new regulations. It does not change any existing Part 107 or Part 101 requirement. It does not grant any new waiver or authorization. It does not set any operational limits, airspace restrictions, or weight/size thresholds. It is purely a procedural extension of a comment deadline.

This notice extended an environmental comment deadline; it did not change Part 107 operating requirements.
