If you do not fly a ParaZero system, this document changes nothing for you.
Manufacturers who use ParaZero's accepted means of compliance to show that a drone meets the Category 2 or Category 3 requirements for flying over people, and the pilots who fly those drones.
The FAA announces that it has accepted ParaZero's 'ParaZero Part 107 Operations Over People Means of Compliance' (version 1.5, dated February 4, 2026) as an acceptable means of showing compliance with FAA regulations for sUA Category 2 and Category 3 operations over human beings. The Administrator explicitly notes this is an acceptable means but not the only means.
For ParaZero system operators, this formal acceptance confirms their specific means of compliance document meets FAA standards for Category 2 and 3 over-people operations. For every other remote pilot, nothing changes. No new rules, no new restrictions, no new permissions.
It does not amend any regulation. It does not create new operational requirements for any operator. It does not apply to any sUA system other than the ParaZero one. It does not establish a new category, a new privilege, or a new restriction. It is a single product-specific acceptance, not a policy shift.
Not this specific acceptance, but the process behind it is on the test. To fly over people in Category 2 or 3, a drone's manufacturer must show it meets the injury-severity limits using a means of compliance the FAA has accepted, then declare compliance. Documents like this one are how the FAA accepts a means of compliance.
