FAA sample question 6

FAA sample question 6 of 46 · Regulations

Which technique should a remote pilot use to scan for traffic? A remote pilot should

A. systematically focus on different segments of the sky for short intervals.
B. concentrate on relative movement detected in the peripheral vision area.
C. continuously scan the sky from right to left.

Answer: A. systematically focus on different segments of the sky for short intervals.

The eye only sees detail when it stops and focuses, so scan in short pauses across segments of the sky. A continuous sweep sees very little, and a collision threat often shows no relative movement at all.

The FAA published this sample set in August 2021. Our answers were checked against the current regulations and against the testing-supplement figures in September 2026.
